I'm not too familiar with Fixed Point Mathematics but I've learned that pretty much every mobile device, and certainly all with ARM processors, lack an FPU (Floating Point Unit). I've heard that ARM processors work best with Fixed Point math. The game library Allegro has many fixed point functions and I would like to know if PPL has any. From the research I've done, creating a fixed point library isn't a trivial task. Would fixed point math speed up operations in PPL? Thank you for your consideration.

A couple more things:

I was told earlier that Background Color would be an option for PIDE in 1.52. Is this version still coming or will I have to wait for 2.0.
Also, should I buy 1.5xxx now or wait for 2.0. From the April newsletter I know no price is set in stone but I would like to know which option makes more sense. Thanks.

(Sorry if there was a double post.)

Hi,

PPL uses Double precision type as a basis variable storage. The GameAPI uses integer type being converted from double.

PPL 1.52 will be coming out soon, there will be an upgrade fee for PPL 2.0 for all PPL 1.x customers. No prices have been announced yet.
